Constant, reliable, and proven: sheet vinyl flooring
In a world that seems to change with the blink of an eye and where “new and improved” is the label attached to everything that is in vogue, sometimes the tried and true gets overlooked. So, as you are looking at flooring options, take time to consider the benefits of sheet vinyl. And, when you are considering this floor, don’t only think in terms of kitchens and baths, but think in terms of any room in the house.
What is sheet vinyl?
Quite simply, it is a thin layer of waterproof vinyl that is attached to a felt-paper backing. It has a pattern imprinted upon it throughout the length of the roll and some are textured to add to their appearance and add a degree of traction when the floor is wet. These sheets, which are typically manufactured in 12’ widths, are glued down directly to the subfloor in your room. If the room is wider than 12’, a sealer is applied to all of the seams, gently melting the pieces together in a large, waterproof, and beautiful surface for your floor.
Advantages Of Vinyl Flooring
In most cases, vinyl is softer underfoot and warmer to the feet than hard surfaces like tile flooring. Also, it is waterproof. Water will not work its way through it to harm your subfloor nor will it harm the flooring itself. It is also easy to clean and keep clean with the right cleaners. They can also be glued directly to a concrete slab subfloor without much prep other than perhaps to level out any cracks or divots (see below). They provide a durable and affordable flooring solution for any room in your home.Request an estimate
